Interpretation

I spent the better part of 3 hours in a train, looking into the eyes of a girl who inspired me to take out my pen and write this down right there. This is dedicated to her. I hope she stumbles across this poem and understands how deeply her eyes touched me!

There is a beauty in your sad
Glassy grey eyes,
Quivering ruby pout.
A sadness only pain can bring.

You make me want to hold you,
Love you,
Immortalise you
With some lines from my pen.

As your hair falls across your face,
Shadow takes you.
A living poem,
Capturing your vulnerability.

It is in this infinite sadness
That you are still
A prisoner to the eye.
That is when the mask is lifted from your soul.

No ink,
No verse,
Could truly hold your form.
Could truly define you.

It is a selfish want,
To preserve
Just a small piece of you,
Something tangible, beyond this body!
