Phoenix

The death is corroding all beauty and light
The sun slowly dying, gives in to the night
An age for the darkness is waking at last
All beauty is sickly, and fading too fast

But in this mortality, freedom arise
Soars in new dignity, before its demise
A last dying riot of radiant day
A colour eruption, before fade away

The skies in rebellion, whilst lead to their death
Scream of new beauty in their dying breath
The leaves, though the ghosts of their ancestors shade
Wash vivid in colours, eternally made

All existence and living, rampage afore fall
The freedom of Autumn, before cold conquers all
The phoenix of season is fading too fast
The age for the darkness is waking at last

A thousand wishes

I'll love you
As long as the sun continues to rise
The birds remain in song
And stars light up the skies

A thousand times I've wished for you
Many nights passing with no sleep
As you move through this heart
I feel a love so deep

Not once have I forgotten you
Or drifted very far away
And though some time has passed
I still love you the same today

When the rain falls outside
I instantly think of you
As the moon shines in all its beauty
It's you I fall into

Each laugh that we have shared
Every tear I have cried
Late nights spent together
Are all still here inside

Things we've shared, I treasure
Never will they depart
And I will forever love you
As you dwell inside my heart

A thousand times I've wished for you
Staring out into unknown land
And no matter what tomorrow holds
I will not let go of your hand

Reverie

I wish to dream the day away
Lost in thought of yesterday
When tender lips caressed my skin
Drew me down and pulled me in

Those eyes that spoke of raw submission
Mind and body, requisition
Demanding hungers, unquenched thirst
Pounding hearts about to burst

Alas the ringing wakes my mind
I'm back at work and undefined
Within the crowd, just a face
A secret lust I can't erase

I bear the minutes, count the seconds
Through it all your memory beckons
Soon I'll race to be with you
Living what my daydream knew

Iridescent

I wrote this for a friend who is in a tight spot. She knows who she is when she reads this. All I want to say is, have faith, and believe in yourself. Before you start thinking about others, think a little about yourself too. And if you don't, then that is what friends are for!!

I see those rainbows forming,
Deep inside your eyes,
Hope is slowly breaking through,
Your spirit starts to rise.

The beauty in you, I first saw,
Now slowly comes alive,
I always knew you had the strength,
To stand tall and survive.

Cast those demons from your head,
Learn to love once more,
Not just others, but yourself,
Like you did before.

Many falter, many fail,
So many are misled,
Pain exists in every life,
If human, you have bled.

Only you can make the choice,
To see this journey out,
Joy and laughter play a part,
But so does hurt and doubt.

So glad to see those rainbows forming,
So nice to see you smile,
Remember it depends on you,
To make your life worthwhile.

Making Peace

Hand inside the honey jar
Face deep in the dirt
Hold onto what feeds the pain
Then wonder why you hurt

A million choices in the world
Could wash it all away
But bitterness has taken you
Where happy cannot stay

When all you see is what you've lost
You lose all you could gain
Life becomes an empty shell
Pride becomes your chain

Love becomes the enemy
Loneliness your friend
Seasons come and go with time
This life will surely end

Regrets will plague you until death
No freedom to bestow
Reconcile the emptiness
That comes with letting go

Interpretation

I spent the better part of 3 hours in a train, looking into the eyes of a girl who inspired me to take out my pen and write this down right there. This is dedicated to her. I hope she stumbles across this poem and understands how deeply her eyes touched me!

There is a beauty in your sad
Glassy grey eyes,
Quivering ruby pout.
A sadness only pain can bring.

You make me want to hold you,
Love you,
Immortalise you
With some lines from my pen.

As your hair falls across your face,
Shadow takes you.
A living poem,
Capturing your vulnerability.

It is in this infinite sadness
That you are still
A prisoner to the eye.
That is when the mask is lifted from your soul.

No ink,
No verse,
Could truly hold your form.
Could truly define you.

It is a selfish want,
To preserve
Just a small piece of you,
Something tangible, beyond this body!

Taste the night

Taste the liquid crystal sky
The sweetness of the night
Feel the depths of darkness cry
The stars are tears of light

The mirror moon is hung with care
From silver cobweb strands
The darkest backdrop lingers there
Held up with giant hands

No powers can support that ball
No powers can impound
One day from out the sky will fall
And bounce across the ground

Deep blue and endless lake of space
Enchantment of the eyes
A swinging sheet of splendour grace
Encompassing the skies

An icy pool of moon-spun light
Surrounds that hoary sphere
Intoxication of midnight
The wine of shadows here

When day retreats to hide its beams
Then is the night unfurled
And peace seeps out in glorious dreams
Inebriates the world

Hunger

For your warmth,
For your embrace,
Just one more chance,
To see your face.

To hold you close,
And never let go.
To kiss you quick,
Then kiss you slow.

To feel your touch,
Upon my skin,
And send my head,
Into a spin.

To feel the rhythm,
Of your heart.
To be together,
And not apart.

To grasp your hand,
Take it in mine.
And feel the tingle,
Run down my spine.

To be kept safe,
All through the night.
To hear you tell me
"We'll be alright."

For your hands,
To trace my form.
To keep me protected,
And keep me warm.

I have a hunger,
For you and your touch,
And all because,
I love you so much.
